About the Journal

The Latin Neurosurgery (LNeuro) journal is the official publication of the Federación Latinoamericana de Sociedades de Neurocirugía (FLANC).

Since its inception, the journal was called Neurocirugía and ceased publication in 2020 with issue 28(3).

As of the end of 2024, Prof. Dr. Paulo Henrique Pires de Aguiar will take over as editor-in-chief and the journal will be renamed Latin Neurosurgery (LNeuro), resuming its publications in a continuous and open access format.

 

Mission and Scope

Promote the advancement of neurosurgery in Latin American countries.

Promote academic scientific exchange between societies on the continent and between these societies and other societies and/or federations outside the continent, being the arm of the World Federation of Neurosurgery (WFNS) in Latin America.

Open access

Latin Neurosurgery is a journal published entirely in open access. All its content is open from the moment of publication.

 

Copyright

Authors of accepted articles retain the copyright and grant to Latin Neurosurgery journal the right of the first publication, simultaneously licensing it under the Creative Commons Attribution License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).

Sponsorship and advertisements

Latin Neurosurgery accepts proposals from companies in the field to advertise products and services that are of interest to the academic community in neurosurgery and related areas.

The journal is also open to sponsorship proposals from partners, sponsors or institutions that wish to become partners.

 

Article processing charges

Latin Neurosurgery does not charge any publication or processing fees for submission or publication in the journal.

 

History

2025

  • The journal became fully open access.
  • Creation of the new institutional website and installation of the new submission system.
  • Publication of the first open access article.
     

2024

  • Journal changes name to Latin Neurosurgery.
     

2019

  • End of publications of the journal Neurocirugía with volume 28(3) in November of 2019.
